EUROVISION 2023 REVIEW: Portugal

As promised, I will be reviewing each Eurovision entry in the most inconsistent way possible. The entries will be reviewed in a random order using my personal wheel on the Wheel of Names website.

Next is Portugal. They are sending Mimicat with “Ai Coração”

Date chosen: March 11, 2023 (artist & song)

Method: Through their national final “Festival da Canção 2023”, which consisted of 2 semi-finals and a grand final. 20 acts competed for a chance to represent Portugal in Liverpool

What I think: This almost made my top 10 (that could change as the time goes on). I love the cabaret vibes it gives off. I also love that it’s in Portuguese (that’s a topic for another day). I also learned that she wrote the song in 2013 but just brought it in this year. It’s a really cute song and one I could actually tap my feet too

Ranking: 8.5/10

Chance (of qualifying and/or winning): Personally, I hope Portugal qualifies. My heart is telling me otherwise. So, I would say 50-50 for now. It won’t win when it does though, but I think the final needs this
