EUROVISION 2023 REVIEW: Albania

As promised, I will be reviewing each Eurovision entry in the most inconsistent way possible. The entries will be reviewed in a random order using my personal wheel on the Wheel of Names website.

Next is Albania. They are sending the Klemendi family, lead by Albina Klemendi (aka Albina & Familija Klemendi) with Duje

Date chosen: December 22, 2022

Method: The entry was chosen through the annual “Festivali i Këngës” contest, a contest held in Albania since 1962 but was used to choose Eurovision entries since 2003 in time for their 2004 debut. 26 acts competed over 4 days for a chance to represent Albania in Liverpool. Although Albina and her family came second, they were chosen by the public to compete at Eurovision

What I think: It’s a family affair, y’all. But really, though, I think this could be a hit or miss. I love the family dynamics and the elements that this song brings. However, it’s not really my cup of tea. Still, I think it will squeeze on by to the final with the right staging

Ranking: 6/10

Chance (of qualifying and/or winning): It’s a 51-49 in favor of qualifying for me

Live performance in Poland
