EUROVISION 2023 REVIEW: Belgium

As promised, I will be reviewing each Eurovision entry in the most inconsistent way possible. The entries will be reviewed in a random order using my personal wheel on the Wheel of Names website.

Next is Belgium. They are sending Gustaph with “Because of You”

Date chosen: January 14, 2023

Method: Through Eurosong 2023. 7 artists had two songs each in which they chose the entries for each other to perform on stage for a chance to represent Belgium in Liverpool

What I think: The message of the song is excellent. It talks about being who they are and it’s all thanks to the people surrounding them who support them as they flourish. This is beautiful in a way, especially now with all the hate that is going on towards the LGBTQIA+ community (Eurovision is pro-LGBTQIA+). As great as the message is, I would probably play it twice before I get tired of it due to the melody, but I won’t write this off in qualifying for the final when the time comes

Ranking: 7/10

Chance (of qualifying and/or winning): 65% on my end. The final needs it

Two live performances in Spain
