EUROVISION 2023 REVIEW: United Kingdom

As promised, I will be reviewing each Eurovision entry in the most inconsistent way possible. The entries will be reviewed in a random order using my personal wheel on the Wheel of Names website.

Next is the hosts United Kingdom. They’re sending Mae Muller with I Wrote a Song

Date chosen: March 9, 2023

Method: Mae was chosen internally by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom on home soil in collaboration with London-based TaP music, which also had a hand in selecting Sam Ryder last year.

What I think: Wrote a song she did. Not only that, but it’s a banger. When I first heard it, it’s an instant banger. Straight to the top 5 she goes. It also rides with the train they started last year when they sent Sam Ryder and Space Man. That song was a turnaround the UK needed, and I’m hoping for the same with Mae. I mean, the conservatives are trying to cancel her, which means she is a fantastic person in my book

Ranking: 10/10

Chance (of qualifying and/or winning): Can the UK go one more? Build on that second place, lads
