EUROVISION 2023 REVIEW: France

As promised, I will be reviewing each Eurovision entry in the most inconsistent way possible. The entries will be reviewed in a random order using my personal wheel on the Wheel of Names website.

Next is France. They are sending La Zarra with Evidemment

Date chosen: January 12, 2023 (artist); February 19, 2023 (song)

Method: La Zarra was internally chosen by TV station France 2 on January 12, 2023, after cancelling their national final that they had planned for earlier. Her song “Evidemment” was released on February 19, 2023

What I think: Obviously (that’s the translated title) I loved it when it came out. It had the classic French style mixed with some disco in it. I even had it at number 1 when it came out. As time went on and more songs were added to the lineup, I lost interest in it. Still, it’s among my top 20 favorites and I hope they will improve results-wise from last year (I’m still pissed about that tho haha)

Ranking: 7/10

Chance (of qualifying and/or winning): It’s already in the final, but I think it would make top 10 if not be on the left side of the scoreboard

Live performances in France and Spain
