EUROVISION 2024 REVIEW: United Kingdom

Alternative title: United Kingdom Gets Dizzy

Last year’s hosts and 5-time champs are also still riding on a high since their 2nd place finish in 2022. Here is United Kingdom’s entry: Olly Alexander — Dizzy

33-year-old Oliver Alexander Thornton (July 15, 1990) is a British singer-songwriter and LGBT activist. He was known for being the lead singer of Years & Years. He made the announcement on an episode of Strictly Come Dancing on December 16, 2023. His song Dizzy was released on March 1, 2024.

For all the hype, I’m was initially a bit disappointed, but it’s still within the same UK renaissance era, so I’m not too mad. I’m not sure how he will stage it, but I hope he doesn’t get too dizzy if you know what I mean. Now I think it’s solid. I’m sure the UK will get a good placing (but then again, I wanted that last year, but you can’t always replicate 2022 sadly). 8/10.

Although he is an automatic qualifier, Olly will perform at the 1st semi-final on May 7 between Ireland and Ukraine
