EUROVISION 2024 REVIEW: Slovenia

Today we’re looking at another former member of Yugoslavia. Here is Slovenia’s entry: Raiven — Veronika

Having just turned 28, Sara Briški Cirman (Raiven, April 26, 1996) is a Slovenian singer, songwriter, and harpist. She was chosen to represent Slovenia on December 12, 2023. Her song Veronika came out on January 20, 2024. It was the second song revealed after France.

I have wanted Raiven to represent Slovenia for a while, so I’m happy she’s finally getting that chance. The song is mysterious, it’s really aesthetically pleasing. It was partially written by Bojan Cvjeticanin, lead singer of last year’s entrant Joker Out, so I knew it would be good. I’m not sure how she will stage this, but fingers crossed. 8/10.

Raiven will perform 9th in the 1st semi-final on May 7, between Iceland and Finland (although Germany will perform before Slovenia)
